Counseling Appointments

Counseling appointments are 45 minutes long, and typically begin on the hour. It is important to attend all scheduled counseling sessions, and to be on time. Please call and leave a message if you know you will be late or unable to attend a scheduled appointment. If you are late, you will have fewer than 45 minutes for your appointment. If you are more than 10 minutes late for a session, your counselor may be unavailable, and you may need to reschedule.
Individual counseling appointments are limited to 10 per academic year. Most students find that they are helped in less than 10 sessions. For problems or difficulties that will likely require longer-term care, your counselor may refer you to an appropriate off-campus resource.

Because of the demand for our services, counselors cannot guarantee appointments at the same day and time each week. Instead, at the end of each counseling session, you can go to the front desk to schedule another appointment. Depending on you and your counselor's available time, sometimes you will have to wait for more than one week for your next appointment.
